Biography

Christopher Gleason is a cultural and intellectual historian who focuses on the 20th century US. He earned his BA in both philosophy and religious studies at Georgia State University. He then earned a master’s degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in the history of American religion, where he wrote on the American reception of Darwinian natural selection. His Ph.D. dissertation was a history of the Polyamory Movement in America.

Prior to returning to Georgia State to complete his Ph.D., Christopher taught courses for college credit inside San Quentin State Prison. His current research focuses on the impact of AIDS on Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ community during the 1980s.
