She has been at the MHHE for seven years and during her tenure she has worked to help grow the education program (she now leads a education team of 9), and the reach of the museum. As part of that growth, she has maintained and developed partnerships/projects with organizations such as the Breman Museum, the Bartow History Museum, CAF Airbase Georgia, Yad Vashem, the National World II Museum, and more. She serves on the Georgia Association of Museums’ board and is an alumna of the SEMC Leadership Institute.
Prior to her work at the MHHE, Andrea taught middle school in Gwinnett County, but transitioned to museum education after several years in the classroom. She has never looked back.
Andrea earned a BA in History and Education from Marquette University, an MHP from Georgia State, and her EDS in History Education from Kennesaw State. She is now finishing her doctorate and is focusing her research on museum-led professional development for teachers. In addition to being a wife and mom of a toddler, Andrea is an avid reader and a lover of adventures.
