PHI ALPHA THETA
Phi Alpha Theta, organized on March 17, 1921, is the International Honor Society in History. There are currently 839 active chapters and 275,000 members. The Mu-Tau Chapter was organized at Georgia State on May 23, 1967.
As a member of Phi Alpha Theta you will have the opportunity to:
- Present papers and meet distinguished historians at various conventions and conferences
- Apply for numerous scholarships and prizes awarded by the national organization
- Keep up to date on news of interest through the society’s publications, The Historian and The Newsletter
- Participate in the annual regional meeting with other Mu-Tau Chapter members
- Attend lectures, forums, debates, book reviews, film series and many other programs, including social activities, with the Mu-Tau Chapter
Undergraduate Membership Requirements:
Undergraduates must have completed at least 12 semester hours in history, have a GPA of at least 3.1 or better in history and have a GPA of at least 3.0 or better overall.
