The History Department hosts the World Heritage Initiative, a public history and heritage preservation program dedicated to including US Civil Rights Movement sites on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
Students have embarked on nearly 15 study abroad programs taught by history faculty and nearly 40 history majors have taken advantage of study abroad opportunities since 2018.
Historians appreciate that study of the past is an ongoing, deliberative project consisting of research, interpretation and debate. As a student in the History Department, you will become familiar with a large body of historical knowledge and through this understand current society all the better.
