Alex Sayf Cummings will speak about the Atlanta BeltLine at the Carter Center on Thursday, May 28th
Is Atlanta’s BeltLine helping or hurting Atlanta’s growth and the process of gentrification? What is the experience of a black male in Atlanta when compared with that same experience in Baltimore? The new book City by City, edited by Keith Gessen and Stephen Squibb, tackles some of these questions from the unique perspectives of local contributors Lawrence Jackson and Alex Sayf Cummings. The book itself is a collection of diverse and intriguing political and personal essays about the present and future of American cities, and Cummings and Jackson write with eloquence about Atlanta and what lies ahead for our beloved city.
On Thursday, May 28th, at 7 p.m., Jackson and Cummings read from, discuss, and sign copies of their book at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library.
A Cappella Books will have copies of City by City available for purchase and signing following the program. This event is free and open to the public.
